What’s Cookin’? Five Good Lookin’ Kitchens
Looking through our current listing line-up, we realized that there was a common theme. The beautiful kitchens. Most people who think they’re bad cooks or think that their ovens are better suited for storage space than culinary masterpieces, probably didn’t live in a house with kitchens like these that might as well have been made for the backdrop of a Rachel Ray episode. Plus, who wants to be the cook in a home where the kitchen is blocked off from the rest of the home. It’s not 1920, and none of us are into the idea of “staying in the kitchen.” Here are five houses that flow seamlessly through straight to the kitchen, putting the chef at the heart of the home.
Check out the beam ceilings on this one. This is our listing at 395 Beverly Road. The hardwood countertop on the island shines like the sun, the sparkling glass cabinets peak out at you, and the steal appliances make you feel like you really know what you’re doing when it comes to sauteing and mixing. In a kitchen like this, it’s easy to fake it ’til you make it. Not to mention, you wouldn’t feel lonely, the rest of the home opens right up to it.
Take a look at this hardwood bombshell inside our listing at 1750 Doncaster Drive! The recessed lighting makes the wood gleam and glisten. Complete with pantry, wine rack, and state-of-the-art appliances, it’s hard not to want to try your hand at cooking. Can you think of a better place to experiment?
Two words: subtly charming. 56 Inman Circle definitely has what it takes to pull of the intriguing kitchen appeal. The window is definitely the centerpiece of this cook’s dream. It brings in natural lights and makes the space look so refreshing and clean. Our favorite thing about this kitchen, however, is definitely the oven knobs. Crazy how just a small touch of royal blue can pop so much that it makes the whole room memorable.
In Smyrna at 3076 Old Cabin Lane, you’ll find this dreamboat. Sometimes, details are just details and sometimes, they’re everything. Without the lighting, the lantern fixtures, and the granite counter tops, you might not feel compelled to throw on an apron or whip something up, but this is one example where the details are not minor. Sometimes, just a pinch of this and a dash of that is all the flavor you need to spice things up.
And, drum roll please….. We saved the best for last! This kitchen is from our listing at 537 Hillside Drive in Chastain Park. Even though it’s right in the middle of the city, this kitchen, and the rest of the house it belongs to, has more of a mountain mansion getaway feel. And, not to brag or anything, but this house was featured in a recent post in one of our favorite blogs, Hooked on Houses. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the blog, being featured in this blog is pretty much like making the online version of House Hunters.
