Druid Hills Real Estate

Druid Hills lays claim as one of the city’s oldest planned neighborhoods.

Welcome to Druid Hills Real Estate

Dating as far back as the late 1880’s, Druid Hills lays claim as one of the city’s oldest planned neighborhoods.

Joel Hurt — developer of Inman Park, Atlanta’s “first suburb” — enlisted famed designer Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr. to his vision for Druid Hills in 1892. Olmstead quickly conceived something far different for the Atlanta community — broad winding avenues, parks, and meeting spaces defining a common median, a tree-lined roadway that was both streetcar and pedestrian appropriate, and a revolutionary combination of functional green spaces.

The Druid Hills real estate landscape was born, and still today, Atlanta residents and visitors alike enjoy beautiful, park-lined Ponce de Leon Avenue. However, they have also come to appreciate the more modern community anchors, such as Emory University and Emory Hospital; the Fernbank institutions, as well as other science and art museums; research facilities; prized public and private educational establishments; as well as the area’s diverse, historic real estate.

The Druid Hills Civic Association coordinates an annual tour of homes if you’re interested in seeing more of these grand private properties. The DHCA is also an excellent resource for artists looking to participate in the local market; parents hoping to connect over issues affecting their children; and those wanting to learn more about historic preservation efforts throughout the Druid Hills community.
